Introduction

The Koxinga Museum is located within the Koxinga Shrine in Tainan City. This two-story building houses a collection of artifacts related to Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong), a national hero who played a pivotal role in Taiwan's history. Originally established as the Taiwan Historical Materials Museum, it was first situated within Fort Zeelandia and later relocated to its current location at the Koxinga Shrine.​

The museum aims to educate the public about Koxinga's significance in Taiwan's cultural heritage and to provide insights into early Taiwanese culture through its collections. By showcasing historical artifacts, the museum allows visitors to understand Koxinga's life and his connection to Taiwan's history, highlighting Tainan City's historical ties with Koxinga's establishment of Taiwan. Additionally, the museum integrates Tainan's historical culture with tourism, creating a unique cultural theme for the city.​

Currently, the Koxinga Museum also features exhibition spaces that host various art and cultural events and related exhibitions. Visitors are encouraged to embark on a cultural and historical journey in Tainan, promising a rewarding experience.

Transportation

By Public Transport:

Take the train to Tainan Railway Station. From the station, take City Bus No. 18 and alight at the Koxinga Shrine stop.​

By Car:

Exit at the Tainan Interchange (Guanmiao/Rende System) on the highway. Turn left onto Section 2, Er-Ren Road (Provincial Highway 1), continue along the highway, then proceed to Datong Road and Kaishan Road to reach the Koxinga Museum.
