The school was founded in May of 1914 (the 3rd year of the Republic of China) under the original name "Tainan Middle School of the Taiwan Governor-General’s Office." It was the first secondary school established in southern and central Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period. Originally an all-boys school, it began admitting female students in 1988 with the addition of a Special Fine Arts Program. The current principal, Mr. Kuo Po-Chia, is the first to be promoted through a formal selection process within the school. Having worked at Tainan Second High School for many years, he actively promotes campus digitalization, fosters students' independent thinking and global perspectives, and supports a variety of student clubs and the development of a reading culture. These efforts aim to help students at Tainan Second High School unlock their potential and enjoy a joyful learning experience.

Train:

From the front exit of Tainan Railway Station, turn right onto Beimen Road. Walk for about 10 minutes and turn left before reaching Kaiyuan Overpass.

High-Speed Rail:

Take the free shuttle bus and get off at the final stop, "Bing Pei Factory Stop" (Tainan Park). Walk north along Gongyuan Road, then turn right onto Gongyuan North Road and walk for about 5 minutes.

City Bus:

(1) Buses No. 9 and 18: Get off at "Bing Pei Factory Stop," walk north along Gongyuan Road, turn right onto Gongyuan North Road, and walk for about 5 minutes.

(2) Buses No. 2, 5, and 6: Get off at "Tainan Park Stop," walk north along Beimen Road for about 3 minutes.
