The "Lin Mo-Niang Park" in Anping, Tainan, covers an area of 2 hectares. The entire park is centered around a statue of Mazu, also known as Lin Mo-Niang. What's unique about this park is that the "Lin Mo-Niang statue" is not the typical Mazu statue found in temples, but rather a depiction of Mazu as a young girl. This design was chosen because the young Mazu represents the epitome of filial piety, and the park hopes that young people will follow her example. "Lin Mo-Niang Park" was donated by the "Chimei Cultural Foundation" with an investment of over 20 million NT dollars. In addition to the unique statue of young Mazu, the statue is 16 meters tall, with a 4-meter base. It was created by Professor Li Wei-Si of Xiamen University in China, commissioned by Chimei Company. The statue is carved from granite and has a smooth, graceful design. The park is named after Lin Mo-Niang with the purpose of promoting filial piety, expressing gratitude to the ancestors who migrated and opened up new territories, and reminding future generations to remember their roots. The statue faces the harbor, symbolizing the protection of the maritime residents. "Lin Mo-Niang Park" is a great place for family outings, as well as for chatting and walking with friends. Due to the elevated and open terrain, the sunset and night view here have become a new tourist attraction in Tainan. Once the "Anping Harbor National Historical Scenic Area - Harbor Historical Park" is completed, it will become an internationally recognized tourist destination, offering the public a high-quality and comfortable recreational space.
