"Lane 321 Art Village" is a designated municipal historic site comprising the former dormitory complex of the Japanese Army’s Second Infantry Regiment, with a history spanning over 80 years. Built during Japan’s Showa era, the site currently includes 18 buildings, of which around 8 to 10 are still usable. It is the most well-preserved cluster-style cultural asset in Tainan. Due to the lengthy process involved in historical restoration, the Tainan Cultural Affairs Bureau launched an artist-in-residence program. Under a two-year residency plan, artists and cultural teams are selected to collaborate and breathe new life into the heritage site, transforming it into a vibrant art village through creativity and artistic engagement.
