Introduction

Tainan Metropolitan Park is located in Rende District, Tainan City, bordered by the East District to the northwest and adjacent to Tainan Airport on the west side. Nearby landmarks include the century-old Taiwan Sugar Corporation’s Rende Sugar Factory, Bao’an Railway Station, and Bao'an Temple, which was established in the 57th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1718). Among Taiwan’s three major metropolitan parks, the Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park was developed from a reclaimed landfill and serves as an urban forest park; the Taichung Metropolitan Park sits on a plateau and is a natural urban park. In contrast, Tainan Metropolitan Park is poised to evolve into a cultural and artistic museum park, especially with the completion of the museum district to its southeast.
