The “Lake of Dreams,” also simply known as “Dream Lake” (Menghu), refers to the Dapu area located south of Donggaorui and along the upper reaches of Wushantou Reservoir. The name originates from the filming of a romantic movie titled *Lake of Dreams* around 1979 , starring Brigitte Lin. During the filming, a small wooden cabin was built by the lakeside, drawing significant tourist attention and turning the site into a popular attraction of the Wushantou Reservoir. At its peak, speedboats would bring visitors from the main dam area in about ten minutes, and the “Lake of Dreams Restaurant” once enjoyed great success. However, the cabin was later dismantled by water resource authorities, which led to a decline in visitors and the eventual fading of the site’s popularity. The once-grand “Lake of Dreams Restaurant” now stands abandoned and dilapidated. Today, only a few households and two Guanyin temples remain. Since boat access is no longer available, the area can now only be reached by land.
