Located within the "Anping Harbor National Historic Scenic Area," this hall was built during the Qing Dynasty when troops were stationed in Taiwan. Most of the stationed soldiers came from Fujian, and to strengthen morale and ease their homesickness, temples and halls were constructed in Anping. These served mainly for worshipping deities from their hometowns and for gathering. Among them, the Haitan Hall was built by soldiers from the Haitan garrison. Since there is a mountain named Haishan (Sea Mountain) in the Haitan area, Haitan Hall is also known as Haishan Hall.
