It was the residence for senior personnel of Taiwan Salt during the Japanese colonial period, featuring not only residential buildings but also a Japanese-style garden. To actively preserve the historical appearance of the old settlement in Anping, Tainan, and to reuse the historical buildings, the Ministry of the Interior's Construction and Planning Agency provided a subsidy of 26 million NTD for a comprehensive renovation.
