The Wushan Taiwan Macaque Sanctuary is located in Wushan, Nanhua District, Tainan City. It is the only Taiwan macaque sanctuary in Taiwan. Since 1989, Mr. Lin Dianxiu has been releasing macaques that he rescued from the roadside, and the number has now exceeded 100. The Taiwan macaques in the sanctuary have been in long-term contact with humans and are accustomed to being fed, so they are not afraid of humans. Additionally, along the mountain trails opened in the area, most visitors bring fruits or peanuts to feed the macaques. The macaques and humans in this sanctuary have developed a unique coexistence pattern.
