Jingliao Elementary School is located in Jingliao Village, Houbi Township, near the Jingliao Catholic Church. Although the school building is not large, it retains a historic wooden chapel and office. The wooden chapel was built in 1951 (the 40th year of the Republic of China), and the wooden office was constructed in 1956 (the 45th year of the Republic of China). There is also a flag-raising platform from the Japanese colonial period located in a rosewood forest. Jingliao Elementary has one class per grade, with no more than 35 students per class, which aligns with the small class teaching system. The campus is surrounded by lush greenery, with the sounds of birds and flowers filling the air. It’s definitely worth visiting this small, charming elementary school if you have the chance. The school is located in Molin Village, Houbi District, with a community waterside park across the street. About 100 meters to the east is the famous historical building – Jingliao Catholic Church. To the west are Molin Village and Jingliao Village, which feature a museum, old streets, and the Ruan family’s ancient residence. This area integrates education, culture, tourism, and historical settlements, making it a key area for developing traditional communities and community center imagery.
