Introduction
The Taiwan Fucheng City Wall South Gate Section Remains are located on Shulin Street in Tainan City. The outer edge faces Shulin Street, while the rear connects to National Tainan Girl's Senior High School, serving as part of the school's perimeter wall. This section was restored using traditional methods and closely resembles its original appearance. A portion of the wall's internal structure has been deliberately left exposed for observation. The wall runs east to west, with the section adjacent to the school measuring approximately 80 meters in length and 4 meters in height, making it the best-preserved segment. The construction utilizes traditional "sanhetu" (a mixture of lime, sand, and glutinous rice), showcasing ancient building techniques. Given that few traces of the old city wall remain in Tainan, these remnants are of significant historical value.
